Today, several members of the 2011-12 Charger hockey team participated in the “Get Your Beer Goggles On” event on campus, which highlights the risks of alcohol consumption followed by attempts to operate a motor vehicle. The beer goggles device provided simulates the limitations of visual acuity caused by blood alcohol levels above the legal limit without endangering students. The event is coordinated and run by campus police.

On to the photos!

Both senior forward Jamie Easton and junior forward Sebastian Geoffrion participated in a field sobriety test with their goggles on.

There is no truth to the rumor that Jamie was better at this because he’s lower to the ground.

7 and 22 also drove a golf cart around campus while donning the drunk devices.

Junior goaltender Johnny Griggs and sophomore defenseman Lasse Uusivirta participated in the cart driving.

Griggsie still sees the puck despite the goggles.

Sophomore forward Brice Geoffrion and freshman forward Jeff Vanderlugt also came out for the event.

Vanderlugt barely fits in that cart, but the look on Brice’s face tells me that Coach Warde looks better through beer goggles.

Freshman defenseman Graeme Strukoff and freshman Tyler Kotlarz were in the area, and it looks like Graeme is really confused by how these things work …

The last participants were the Atlanta boys, freshman forwards Craig Pierce and Kyle Lysaght:

We at UAHHockey.com thank Coach Warde for the photos, the boys for being good sports, and you for not drinking and driving after any UAH Hockey event (or any other time).
